Congratulations on your upcoming mitzvah celebration,

Can you believe it? It seems like only yesterday that the doctor presented you with your child for the very first time and thirteen years has flown before your eyes and soon your child will become a Mitzvah. It will then become time to celebrate one of the most important days of your child’s life. After working hard and studying for five years, it’s time to celebrate.

You have most likely attended multiple Bar / Bat Mitzvah celebrations for friends and family in your life but now it’s different, as you are now planning your child’s party. You never really paid attention before, but now you are noticing every detail.

There are thousands of dJs and bands in the Chicago area, ranging from your neighbor's cousin who just likes playing his music real loud, to consummate professionals. How do you know which is which?

We understand that for most people, choosing a DJ or band is a very difficult and yet very important decision. What to ask? How to determine who's really good, and who's really cheesy? Since everybody CLAIMS to be “the best” how do you narrow the field and find just the right fit?

First, ask around. People in the industry should know your entertainment company, their owners, and their staff. If not, why don't they? We are proud to have worked at every venue on Chicago’s North Shore and have an impeccable reputation for excellence and value.

Next do your homework. This is not a decision which can be made over the phone, any more than you would choose your venue or your photographer by phone. If you are considering dj entertainment, do you have the ability to meet an emcee or several emcees from an entertainment company? There is a big difference between an emcee that happens to be available for your party and the correct emcee that your son or daughter connects with.

Does the band that you are considering have current photographs, video, and a comprehensive play list that is consistently updated with the top hits played on the radio? There is a huge difference between a band that your parents may like and one that you and the kids attending will like.

Next, check references.  Understand that anyone can supply you with good references, but not all good references are equal. Find out WHY the client loved their entertainment. Talk to several of their references. This day is too important for you not to check references.
